Wellness summer 2017

During your escape to the green hills of Sintra, complement your stay at Casa do Valle with our wellness offers. This summer, to make the most of your stay with us, we have developed a special program for our guests, together with our expert Lena Lönnbäck.

Having Sintra as scenery you can enjoy a relaxing or invigorating massages, walks in the less known paths of the Sintra mountain, and renew your energy with a fitness session, ranging from calm and relaxed stretching to stamina building exercises. You can even have a one-on-one health promotion consultation with our expert, Lena Lönnbäck – more about Lena at the end of this blog.




Free Wellness Activities:

Guided morning walks in the mountain, to the palaces and around the neighbourhood, 2-3 days a week

Exercise classes, 5 times a week, including:
  •         Stretching and core strength  
  •         Functional Training
  •          Circuit Training


The walks are guided by Joana, Virpi or Laura, and the exercise classes by Lena Lönnbäck. 



Other Wellness Activities:
Guided hikes in the mountain, seaside or countryside half day hikes, morning or afternoon, discovering the lesser known parts of Sintra.  We can tailor your hike to suite your preferences of landscape and physical condition. For individuals or small groups.

Health promotion consultation and Personal exercise session developing a personal health plan based on an evaluation of your current state that includes mobility and muscle balance testing, and is based on your personal needs and wishes of development.  This is paired with a private work-out session.

Personal excercise session Functional training using body weight and resistance bands/weights. The pace depends on your needs. You can pick the location, either on the property, in the mountain or at the beach (all depending on the schedule). It can be either a “private” or group sessions.

Sports Massage for Neck and Back A deep tissue massage that works on the fascia (lining around the muscles) as well as the muscle itself. This deeper, slower and firmer massage will get your muscles soft and relaxed. Trigger point massage included if requested. 


Lena Lönnbäck is originally from Finland, based in Sweden, and now currently visiting Casa do Valle. She has an education in functional training, and has worked as a personal trainer since 2012. Since then she’s also lived and worked in Gothenburg where she started her own business at a studio offering both training and massage.
Lena has a great deal of experience working especially with back and neck problems. As her tools she uses the right kind of training and, if wanted, massage.
Other than that, she has also worked with a football team in Gothenburg, helping the group develop their mobility, stamina and overall physical wellness.
During our partnership, Lena will be holding training sessions for both groups and individuals, as well as offering sport massage, or if preferred, classic massage.
